09.04.2024 & 23.05.2024 – Subsea Days: Høyskolen på Vestlandet (HVL) and the University of Stavanger (UiS)

NOSP in 2024 is collaborating with the University of Stavanger (UiS) and Høgskolen på Vestlandet (HVL) to increase the visibility of offshore companies to a new wave of graduates and students interested in working in the maritime environment. The NOSP committee sees immense value in such events providing a bridge between industry and academia.

Two events are planned this spring (replacing NOSP’s traditional evening gatherings) to provide NOSP sponsors with an opportunity to gain access to highly skilled and motivated students from a variety of backgrounds:

Stavanger: Tuesday 9th April 2024, 11:00-15:00 (UiS)

Bergen: Thursday 23rd May 2024, 11:00-15:00 (HVL)

In Stavanger, we have agreed for the first time to work with UiS Subsea to ensure their annual Subsea Day is an even bigger success than last year. In Bergen, Subsea Days will be an inaugral cooperation directly with HVL that we hope will become a regular feature in the NOSP calendar.

01.02.2024 – NOSP Evening Event, Litteraturhuset, Bergen

In-person and Online Event – Live from 18:30 (Norwegian Time – UTC+2hrs)

Survey in Project Operations

Simply put, Survey is fundamental to work offshore. Without surveyors, the oil, gas, renewables and telecoms industries could not do their vital work. But for even those already involved in operations, Survey has so many varied applications it can still appear confusing what is possible. Imagine how it must look to those outside trying to look in.

NOSP’s first evening of 2024 will showcase three examples of Survey’s applications from real-life offshore projects. To bookend the evening, Skilltrade will present what the Dutch company can offer those interested in learning more about hydrographic survey.

Doors open at 17:30 and the evening’s timetable will be as follows:

18:30 – Fugro Norway AS – Dynamic Calibration of Vessel Sensors (John Vint, Starfix Brand Manager)

19:00 – DOF Subsea Norway ASThe Greater Tortue Project (Amund Hovland, Project Surveyor)

19:30 – Break and Networking

20:00 – EquinorSurvey Operations during Jacket and Topside Installations (Julian Bell, Principal Engineer Subsea Technology and Operation)

20:30 – Skilltrade B.V.Hydrographic Survey Training by Skilltrade (Johan Stam, Managing Director)

As ever, light food and drinks will be available for those in attendance so registration here is essential to get the correct quantities ordered. Although just over two hours in duration, the schedule is flexible; the most important thing is that we all enjoy the evening.

For those unable to attend, join us live on YouTube. The presentations will be available from the same link after the evening’s activities are concluded.
