An in-person only event, live from 19:00 (Norwegian Time – UTC+1hr)
Surveying Beyond Traditional Boundaries: New Frontiers in Marine Surveys
Aerial LiDAR surveys are not exactly a new method of acquiring geodata, but it’s slowly becoming a more accepted one. And yet even as this form of mapping becomes more recognised, other companies are trying to work out what’s possibly already around the corner.
In this evening’s presentations, we’ll look at those two worlds within the larger survey community. Njord Survey (Sweden) have long been an established and well respected company within the hydrographic community. Together with Field Geo, and a soon-to-be-confirmed third presenter, this evening’s presentations will be insightful across the board of maritime mapping.
Networking at NOSP events is as ever greatly encouraged. Doors open at 18:00, finger food will be available from 18:15 and there will be a break of 25 minutes after the second presentation to catch up with friends and colleagues.
The evening’s timetable will be as follows:
- 19:00 – NOSP Introduction – Åsa Lemoine
- 19:05 – Njord Survey: Beyond Autonomy – Designing the Next Generation of Marine Surveys (Martin Wikmar)
- 19:30 – Field Geo: Mapping Northern Ireland’s Coastal Zone with Airborne Bathymetric LiDAR (Charles de Jongh)
- 20:00 – Break
- 20:30 – Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA): SeaBee – Drone and LiDAR Innovations for Coastal Ecosystem Surveys (Kasper Hancke)
Light food and drinks will be available for those in attendance so registration here is essential to get the correct quantities ordered. Although just over two hours in duration, the schedule is flexible; the most important thing is that we all enjoy the evening.
Unfortunately, this event will not be live streamed. However, all presentations will be posted on the NOSP website as soon as possible thereafter.
